shift cable repair

I promised to let you all know how the repair I did on the sheathing of 
my shift cable worked out.  It had been melted through and had probably 
been leaking transmission fluid.  So when I had the engine and 
transmission out of the car I cleaned it thoroughly and painted the 
damaged area with the vinyl type paint used to coat tool handles etc.  
So far so good, no leaks and I've probably put 150 miles on it.
