I believe DD's word is gospel for the following reasons: He lists all the H/C cars built, and he also knows from the build records that they shipped with the Y9 option. So, it would stand to reason of all the H/C cars built none were shipped with the steel front. Also, DD went to Detroit and searched all the build records personally, so it's not just an opinion.
