Herb,Just wanted to let you know, I called Color Correct and it was definetely worth my time. Rob was great and spent a lot of time with me.
A very good reference indeed... I have no doubt that the paint that shows up will be absolutely perfect.
In the past I also have used the PPG version of Chrysler Majestic Red that I need, and I agree... Orange!

They also are the only people that still use the correct pigments to mix their paint. That means their colors are dead on. PPG uses different pigments than were used in 62 thus making their colors, Different! Color Correct is a bit higher on pricing but undisputable at a show. Had a friend that had a problem with a judge at a show stating he was an expert on B body's and claimed my friends interior was wrong color and paint type. A quick call to Color Correct got him a Best of Show! Color is not the only thing to worry about but the type of paint Gloss, Flat, Mat & Swede depending on how correct you want to get. My 63 Sport Fury for instance uses three different types of the same color of red. Give them a call and tell them Herb McCurdy sent you and they should help you on all your questions. Also if you get your interior from Legendary for instance they work closely with them to match colors. Just a disclaimer I have no connection with or to Color Correct just a happy customer! BTW, PPG paint turned out more orange than red using their Politically or Environmentally correct pigments! Just my two cents!! From: Wakeman Massie Date: 10/2/2008 5:06:15 PM To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: Interior Paint Code Help I'm restoring a 1962 Dart and am looking for information on interior paint codes. I need to paint the dash and interior trim pieces in the factory red color. I've been told at two paint supply stores now that there aren't any interior codes for this generation of car, that they just need to do a match to what I have. Naturally I don't believe this, I am sure there must be correct PPG (or other) codes somewhere. Not to mention I can't match what I don't have as the car had almost no interior when I got it, I'm piecing it together. I am wondering if anyone has paint codes for these interior colors or knows a way to find them? Many thanks, Wakeman '62 Dart post (in resto) '64 Dart post (driver) ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
