As I said I was camped at the top end of the track and was just coming out of the camper when it happened so I didn't see what happened with the car that ran before. However my 2 buddies where down at the start line and said they could see smoke up at the finish line. They said the 2 starters looked at each other, shrugged their shoulders and sent the next cars off. I find it curious that there was no mention of this or what actually caused the accident in the MCG article. I wonder if they were asked or told to keep their mouth shut about these details for legal reasons.

The guy who ran before Terry lost an engine and dumped fluids on the track, normally they have a top end spotter but the person responsible for doing that took off to go home and either didn't tell the tower people or they didn't have anyone to replace him, at any rate, some people noticed theupcoming issue and couldn't get the starting lines attention. Terry told meon that particular run the car went it's quickest 60' ever. For those who never seen this car it's was just amazing, the car was previously owned by Brian Sharp who does some fantastic detail work and Terry carried on with that tradition for sure. I often thought the car was too nice to race but the level of detail that more and more guys are putting into NSS cars ismaking a lot of cars almost too nice to race. The big surprise in this story for me is how Norwalk which is one of the safest and well run tracks in thecountry dropped the ball in a huge way. Just sawthe article in Mopar Collector Guide. What wasn't mentioned was that the car that ran just before him may have dumped oil on the track at thefinishline and they never should have sent him down the track. At least that's what a number of people I was with think.
