RE: undercoating removal

Hi folks,

Here is a trick that has not been mentioned.

I hate a mess and when I removed the undercoating off my 64 440 I used a
putty knife and a hammer and chipped it off. I got a pillow, covered
myself up with an old sheet and a face mask and went at it for about
three months (off and on).

When I had my wife's ragtop brought home and was about to start the
tedious task of undercoating removal, a friend told me to get an air
chisel and a wide blade. Turn the air almost off to the air chisel and
it will take the dried undercoating off.

I was somewhat skeptical but I would rather vacuum up the bits then have
a big pile of slimy, saturated rags to deal with.

Anyway, Trevor was right. I did the entire area of the left inner
fender in about 15 minutes. Way easier than anything else.

Once I got the undercoating off, I used a rag with solvent and simply
wiped the inner fender are clean.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
