The  drive tool should be brass, to avaoid any sparks.

If you can't find a tool, Just use a small dull chisel or a screw driver and
tap lightly counter clockwise with a hammer on one of the tabs that are
sticking up.  It will or should come off fairly easily unless some gorilla
installed it.  (-;  When reinstalling it make sure you have all three tabs
aligned in their grove and ultimately locked in to avoid leeks.  Again use
the same tool to reinstall the ring tapping it clockwise.

Now for the disclaimer, I don't recommend using a tool (screwdriver) in a
way that it is not intended to be used for safety reasons, But!
