Fw: Re: 4 speed firewall reinforcements

I am thinking of using the Centerforce clutch. Not having any experience
with them, are they about the same as stock in depressing the clutch pedal (
resistance)? Why do they say to disconnect the over center spring? To keep
the pedal from sticking down under high RPM shifts like the old diaphram
clutches did??...........................MO................SW IOWA

In my '65 Belvedere using a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, there was
No difference in the firewall versus an automatic nor did I go to any
Trouble reinforcing anything. Shifts including pedal to the wall power
Shifts were problem free.

The only thing I would say was reinforced was that the ball on the
Fender well side was on a stamped triangular plate held to the body by
Three bolts. The holes or dimples may be there on the body. The edge of
The plate was rolled for stiffness, I assume. Plate was about 3" on a
Side. This is the factory set-up. Check with Brewers if you don't have it.
