Re: 426 Hemi question

I would like to say that I do have first hand knowledge of the general public, locally, ordering , and receiving Hemi cars , in 1964. Having said that, I also know that the thought that cars were only available to race teams, is also what has been written since those days.
I can say positively, that was not the way it was in 1964
I had a brother-in -law at the time that ordered a Dodge Hemi sedan, when it arrived, he refused accepting delivery of that Dodge. It was not the color that was ordered.
I did meet the subsequent buyer of that same Dodge about twelve years ago.
Yup!
If you had the cash, and knew what boxes to check, you could buy one of those new Hemi Dodges and Plymouths in 1964.
I saw it happen.
