making heat shields

Hi guys,I am thinking some heat shields in my 67 cuda engine
compartment might not be a bad idea , what  with headers, maybe one
around the brake switch down low on the frame rail, and one around the
master cylinder.
  What should i make them out of??  will aluminum help or is there
something better like some kind of  heat shield laminate i can glue to
the aluminum??
