RE: headers or manifolds




Headers are a very expensive item for us. The TTI's cost over $700 and 
you have to get a mini-starter. They are very tough to install due to 
the position of the header bolts. Underhood heat is increased alot it 
appears to me. They are beautiful, very well engineered and work great. 
I have them. However if I was not wanting to race mine I'd stick with 
the stock as regular maintenance and repairs are easier. The starter 
will require header removal to replace as even the mini starter is 
jammed in. I put a heat shield blanket around my mini-starter and it was 
soo tight I had to install it like using dental floss. It's probably 
only 1/8" clearance from the headers. I believe Don D said a cure for 
header leaks is to put on two gaskets. That takes up the unevenness in 
them.
