I do have an excellent pair of 273/318 cast iron exhaust manifolds with a working heat riser (rare in itself) #2961916 date coded 6-16-69; ready to bolt on; $25 plus shpg. for anyone interested; photos available.

The factory used manifolds because they are generally very reliable. There are the hi po 340 factory manifolds you could use if you can find some used. There are repros but pricey too:http://www.accurateltd.com/340-Exhaust-Manifolds-Pair_p_9-162.html If you are on a budget the fixed stock 318s should suffice. 2c. Thanks, Gary H. -----Original Message-----TTI would be the only headers I would consider, way more pricey than they need to be but will not leak, there is an obvious gain from making the exhaust more efficient and noise level pretty much depends on mufflers and overall system being ultilized.----- Original Message -----I've got a stock LA 318 two-barrel with auto trans, runs like a champ. Only mod is a dual exhaust system, but it's leaking at the manifolds, so I'm going to take the manifolds off and fix them proper. Was just thinking, would you folks put headers on this engine? I just drive it around, but I drive it a lot. Was wondering about power gains, noise levels, more or less heat, etc.----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
