mpg

hi, yesterday i took my 63 dodge for a blast out into the countryside. car ran great, but am concerned about mpg. normally just drive it around town & its been about a year since its been out on the open road. worked it out at roughly 16mpg. thought from memory[bad as it is] i'd be getting more. car is a standard 4 door sedan, 318LA engine 2brrl stromberg carg, standard exhaust manifold with twin 2'' pipes. is this mpg around the mark our should i be changing things. car dosent get driven much as its on historic reg., which also means i'm limited in what i can do so far as improvements. cheers richard [oz]
