I have one going ino a Jeep . I call it the HE-EP (hemi Jeep) it isnt a street piece but a 60s style altered with a 5.7. They do have several new hemi crate engines although as an engine guy i fail to understand why anyone would buy such expensive motors when an identical one at least can be built for much less but that is just me. I dont think there is any good reason why any engine cant be made streetable without trouble. The 426 doesnt have mechanical troubles like valve giude piston scuffing etc. biggest pwroblems were valve adjustment and carb syncing. Also points used to suffer a bit from the extrem RPm they were capable off. Those problems can no be comletely eliminated. My Incle who was a tune up guy par excellance taught me never get distracted but the engine design. it has 8 pistons. 16 valves , 8 plugs and points and condenser. it doesnt kinow the difference. One carb 7 carbs? so what they have to be set right and we already know how to do that. His non emotional approach to his trade stuck with me and I am so thankful to have worked and learned from him. Hs only downfall was he was a Chevy guy but his skill level was something to aim for. He never got made at mechanical things. Not once ever.
