The pans are real tough!  Never had one bend pulling a tranny.  Figure, the
engine is supported by the mounts and only partial weight is on the draglink
or K frame.  When you pull the engine and set it down, all the weight is on
the pan, nothing happens!  If you have a cast pan, I might be concerned as
they could possibly get a stress crack from the weight in one small location

No long manifolds or anything special, I was just concerned that the
weight of the engine and transmission would pull the engine down too far
being supported only with the motor mounts.
 
I think I'll just jack up the transmission enough to get the cross
member out then see how far it wants to come down, I'll probably just
use a block as recommended under the pan if it trys to come down more
than I like.
 
I know I should change the rear seal, looks like I would have to lift
the engine to get enough clearance to pull the pan.  I'll see how the
trnasmission goes then consider the seal.
