You'll need to have the rear main surface of the crank remachined to use in a car. There are sipes ground into it that directs oil away from the seal. If you spin a reverse-rotation crank backwards(so it spins like a normal car engine) it will send oil directly towards the seal, causing a leak. Any crank shop should be able to do it. Also, most industrial engines used a solid lifter cam, which means you should have an adjustable valvetrain-nice! To change the cam and lifters, you'll need new pushrods that match the lifters as the ones in the 361 are likely to be tapered at the lifter end. One more thing: does the crank have a standard rear flange ? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill" <Y1TopBanana73@xxxxxxxxx> To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 4:36:58 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: Re: SV: 361BB Theoretically you should only have to change the cam...but make sure you do some research and find out everything about the setup before you purchase any parts! -- Bill M 65 Coronet 500 'vert http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/mmo62008.html On Wed, Jun 24, 2009 at 3:53 PM, Knud-Erik Holm <kebh@xxxxx> wrote: > > Yes but if i change the cam anyway, then it should not make a difference > ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
