Glove box door 64 Fury/Sport Fury

Has anyone ever had this door restored?

The steel door (base) is wrapped in ribbed aluminum and it looks like it cannot be removed.  

Is it possible to remove the anodizing, remove light scratches and pitting and restore this piece?
