leaf lengths

i have a pair of leafs from a big block 72 charger, will they fit my 62 dart??
  I THINK the leafs in my 62 are still the original slant six leafs,
though the rear end has been upgraded to a newer " non -spline" 8.75.
How can I tell, how many leafs  should there be ??
