Chris, My cousin Martin Dolmetsch wanted me to go to Ulm and climb the
Cathedral steps. I think he said 700. Too many for me. All three of the
Dolmetsch boys live in Metzingen. (Martin Albrecht and Paul Ludwig.) They
are all Architechts. I have been there twice. My ancestor left Germany 300
years ago this month. going first to Irland then they moved to US but were
thrown out and sent to Canada (1784) By the time they got here Dolmetsch
had been respelled Dulmage and Dolmage and Delmage. I reunited with them in
2001 for the first time in 292 years. They look like me too. That was
really scary. Martin had a 69 2dr Mercedes he had kept and picked my up in
because he knew i liked cars. He since gave it to his son who lives in Koln.
In the process I learned to speak German and have come to love the land of
my fofahr. Was there twice last year. I am visiting my cousin Mike Dolmetsch
in Zurich. He is a professional musican there. Does the music for the Swiss
Star TV show. Mike's father Uli has a bunch of Mopars but not perfomance
stuff. more family cars and a Dodge van. I wanted to come to Metzingen this
year as they always have a Dolmetscfest on Pfingsten Sontag but i have only
a 1/2 day to go into Germany from Zurich so i decided Konstanz will have to
do. I have done some stuff with Oliver too as I sent over the Oly Express
mopar engine for him to install in the 72 Charger. I wish I had more time
in Germany as I would like to meet you but next year i will come again and
will definately be in Metzingen or Buttenhausen. (Martins Urlaub haus)
Anyway I am really glad to meet you and welcome you to this great group of
folks who love the old mopars. Email me private anytime you want. English or
Deutsch is fine.
I have been for some wild rides in a LT1 Powered ,Edelbrock fuel injected
Chevy van owned by a friend in Bruchkoebel so i know you guys take your
hotrodding seriusly. He was also a Mopar guy with a 68 383 Dodge Polara
although I could never be both. I am Mopar , punkt!
Don

Hi Don,
the world seems to be pretty small. I live in Ulm which is 45 minutes from
Metzingen and about 1 hour from Konstanz. But from my mom´s house Metzingen
is about 10-15 Minutes...Nuertingen. Maybe You heard of this town.
Yea - I know Oliver pretty well. In fact I sold him my 69 RR before I bought
my Polara. I received a tour in his shop and saw Christophe´s Charger. I´m
planing to go to the Mopar Nationals Germany this Year...be there. It is
just great.
If You´re in the area - let me know. There´s a lot going on in the south.
Not just with Mopars. All brands are very popular. Especially when I´m on
the road with some fellow rockabilly friends - Mercury and Ford rule the
road......
Best wishes from Germany,
Chris

Hi , welcome to the group. I am often in Germany.(traveling from Canada) I
have distant cousins in Metzingen , Koln and Munchen. In fact i will be at
Boden See (Konstanz) May 30 for my birthday. Lots of great Mopars in
Germany. Moparshop of course is Moparzentrum as Gary already mentioned.
Where
are you located?
Another interesting fellow is Christophe Schwartz who was on this list a
few years back, He runs the Nascar returns to Lemans project and recently
had one of his big Chargers at Nurburgring. (See "Das Autoblog" (Charger)
He
used to have a 62 Ply wagon when he was on "the list."
