I've been working on car interiors for 28 years. I've done several 62-65

Body headliners (2 for myself) and I've never done one with the back and
front window out. 2 have been with a full cage. The trick is to lay it
in
the sun before you install it to let the sun take the big wrinkles out and
do it in the heat of the day. Remember that you will need to pull tight
working side to side front to back. I've pulled it half-ass tight then
went
back in an hour and pulled it tighter. Take your time.

I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but I did my 65 with
the front and rear glass out and it seemed easier to me but the this is
only
the first one I have ever done. The sides were more interesting to me
because after watching a couple of later 60's cars getting done I thought
I
had to stretch mine over the outer edge like those guys did but early
cars
do not get stetched over the outside edge, they get tucked straight up
the
side on the inside. I would make sure when you remove the old liner that
the
teeth on the side hangers are nice and straight, if not you will have a
hard
time getting it to latch on tight. Man, I sure hope I explained this
right!
