Electrical short

I just picked up my '64 Polara 500 from the headliner shop (he did a fantastic job in less than 4 hours!) and started noticing an annoying short in the electrical system. There is an audible "click" and the ammeter pegs discharge, the radio quits, the tach quits and then a few seconds later all is back working. Also, the wipers don't work unless the "click" starts and then only for a half sweep or so. I can hold the wiper switch and feel the click too. It happens every few minutes if you leave the accessory on, but doesn't seem to happen while driving. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Mike
