Spark plug question

Rich Kinsley '64 Dodge Polara 4dr 318poly w/goodies

I have had problems finding spark plugs that fit and work. I just don't
want Champions and the good Autolite 75's are not made anymore from what
I see. The Autolite 85's are a different heat range and just don't work
as well. The problem with my engine is the reach. The 75's and 85's are
3/8" reach (.375). I had tried some others and carefully turned the
engine bt hand and I found the domed pistons hit the electrod and bent
it. I don't need to ventilate my pistons!

Here's what I spotted at Summit. E3 spark plugs with .375 reach , one
designated as #ETP-E3-12 and the other as #ETP-E3-14. They are $2 each
right now. Ther is also a .307 reach #ETP-E3-16. I think they sound like
they'd work. Would the "12" be the coldest?? I was thinking of trying
them.

Gary P, et al, got any input???
