Re: disc brake conversion

Does the 11.75 rotors give much better braking? I think AAJ uses GM calipers-are they the slider type. I don't know the pro's and con's of slider calipers or what they are.................MO ----- Original Message ----- From: "george smith" <bt6t4@xxxxxxxxx>

If you go w/ 11.75 rotors you have to have 15" wheels. The smaller rotors use the slider calipers but can have 14" wheels.

> 1964 Dodge B body warmed 413. I know this has been
done to death so please excuse me. Objective: low cost and
over the counter parts.I don't want to scrounge the salvage
yards on this. I am looking at AAJ basic kit and source new
or rebuilt parts from local parts houses as I recieve
a discount from them. Questions: Is a 11" rotor big
enough to whoa my car down quickly, at the dragstrip ?
Can the stock suspension(rebuilt) handle the stronger
braking forces? With disc brakes can I expect much better
brakes than drums , without having power brakes?
