Trunk weather-stripping

Got the trunk painted.. just about ready to install new 
weather-stripping... 2 questions

1) any suggestions on a good glue/cement?
2) where is the best start/end point? have the weather-stripping ends 
meet at the latch? the back (closest to the passenger compartment)? or 
on side?
