Questions on priming

We are trying to prime the engine using the priming shaft and drill.It's not turning.... Any ideas you can give me would be helpful...anyother ways to prime the enigine that anyone would recommend? We knowthe engine turns.... Any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate!!!
