My boots are rubber- not poly. They are pliable enough, but the problem is there is a hard ring inside the rubber at the large end, and it will not stretch. I can get one side started , but then can't get the other side to go on. Also cannot twist them on over the threads on the balljoint. Maybe some lube?. I thought maybe using a peice of tubeing over the boot flange to drive it on but didn't want to risk messing up the boot. . A trick us old bikes used to do with old dried out rubber intake boots that wouldn't go over the carbs on our jap bikes was to stick them on a hot bare light bulb for a minute to warm them and stretch them.
