RE: insurance

On my car, AAA charges about $450 for the year for PL & PD.  I can get full
coverage with agreed value from Haggarty for roughly the same money (I have
an 18 year old driver in the house).  They asked for pictures and a
description of the modifications (no, really, it came like this!).  Bear in
mind that in Michigan we pay a "Statutory Assessment" (uninsured motorist
fund) of $128 each year, on each car, no matter how many you have registered
or insured (included in prices quoted above).

Is it really nessasary to carry a seperate policy?  My car is insured
through my regular car insurance.. they took pictures, asked me how much my
car was worth, sent the info to the main office, they approved, and ta-da I
was insured.

they said If I wanted to insure for more, I need to get my car apprasied,
and they'll accept a qulified aprasial as to what my car is worth.
