Ollie, by "poly primer". do you mean the same as epoxy primer? Could you
give us the brand name and part numbers for that poly primer and all the
additives if they are needed? . From your description of filling and easy
sanding, I would like to try it........................................MO

Subject: Petty Stock Car Project
Updating my Stock Car progress.
Things have been moving on great. We were blessed with some rain free
warmer than normal weather for the past few days and I have been able to
get alot of my primer work done. Working on the second coat and as I said
before I am super impressed by the new body shop materials that are
available. This poly primer I am using fills so nicely, sands so easy that
the results are going to be way better than I had expected. I have got my
worst area done. The right front fender and right side of the hood. They
were both in bad shape and should have been trashed. I have 3 qts of body
filler in the fender alone. The hood was almost rusted in half. I have
amazed myself how good they have come out. Not much more that I can do to
the hood. I re-enforced it with some angle iron, and that is what has
caused the hump up above the fender.
It has stated raining today and going to turn colder for a few days so I
am shut down. I have a great shop to work in but my heat consists of a
butane bottle with burner. I really need to be in the upper 50's to heat
it enough to do paint work and of course no rain for the humidity.
I feel like I am on track. Days are counting down to Mopars at the
Battleship, Mobile, AL. Both my Satellites will be there...MS Cruiser will
be showing off her new trim on the rear between the tail lights, and new
armrests. Work still to be completed. Confident the Petty car will be
painted and decaled up.
I love to hear the progress reports from our members as we play with and
enjoy our follies..!!!!! Bill H. be careful with the family jewels, hate
to see u lose them at this stage of life. Mine might not work as good as
they once did...but at least they work as good once as they ever have !!
Remember the moral of the story...one must keep mom happy..if she is not
happy you will not get to do any equipment checks.
