Re: projects in progress

Gary, sdounds like a well planned build. I am curious to know how this beast reacts to street driving. The feedback on projects progress has inspirede myself! Spent some shop time today , have shop plans for tomorrow , and hopefully my pal can be here next week to help with the floor patching and 4 speed hump install. ......................................MO ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Pavlovich" <glpavlovich@xxxxxxx>

Steve,

Thanks for the inspiration; we shall see how well the mods work. I am busy doing the math for all the components so they work together. I always wanted to see how much HP I could really make using the common speed parts that our ubiquitous LA, B, RB, and HEMI motors use. I have many Poly HP/Torque engine "recipies" and thought I would push the envelope a little.

I will send you a picture of the tunnel ram; maybe Gary H. can post it on the Mail List page as well.

The cam specs are 298/308 Adv. 250/256 @ .050" and .600"/.616" lift w/1.6 ratio on a 110 LC; a large Hyd. Roller as I am not fond of bending over the fenders lashing valves... I have some other interesting cam grinds for "serious" power as well but thought I would "test" this profile; thus the search for a pump friendly compression ratio and work up from there. Doing the calcs I honestly see a true 10 to 1 ratio on 91 unleaded and possibly 10.5 to 11 to 1 with some of economically reasonable octane boosters I mentioned earlier. The intent of the motor is to make fairly high HP/Torque yet street friendly and without expensive "race fuel."

Gary, WOW what a poly! wish you could be here to go drag racing with Rich Kinsley. The youngsters are impressed with his GRAMPAS HOTROD POLY 64 Dodge 4 door--so your engine would blow their minds!....................................MO ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Pavlovich" <glpavlovich@xxxxxxx>

Steve,

You sound busy and productive.

I have finished my Poly Tunnel Ram and presently working on finishing the Poly Roller Camshaft as well as the Poly Roller Rocker setup.

I see a lot of list members on here this winter. What are you all working on this off season? Any drag racers getting ready for opening day at the strip? I have been doing a little on my 64 Dodge 440. Accumulating some more parts-researching disc brake swap. Removed the heater assembly- clutch and brake pedal assembly- . next will be the wiper motor and linkage and the instrument cluster face plate for restoring.. I have a few rust throughs in the air plenum for the heater to patch and try to coat inside plenum with rust encapsulator. This coming week I want to repair a couple holes in the floor and weld in a four speed tunnel hump. And I think I will order the bracket and adapters for the front disc brakes. I want to talk to a leaf spring manufacturer in Omaha to see if he can make me up a set of heavy duty rear springs or maybe even SS springs if he can get the specs. Warmer weather and sunshine will be here SOMETIME---I promise!.........................................MO
