Jack, I don't know if this is your problem but I remember hearing a few 
years ago that there was a batch of bad fuel pump rods out there that 
weren't hardened properly. The problem was they would mushroom over and be 
very hard to remove.

any suggestion on how to remove a stuck fuel rod.i have soak it with p/b 
blaster.
no movement yet.havn't tryed heating it yet.
