Re: Knock, Knock, Any Body Home?

Chris:

I did some quick looks at the 63/64 photos with the scoops I have at home and they have the emblem, 63 Triangle, but no chrome strip on the 63. I do not see a chrome strip down the hood but that is probably the fact that the cars that came with the scoop were usually aluminum front ends. Most steel hooded Ramcharger cars were the street version 11.5 to 1 compression, 415 HP. A lot of these usually did their own home grown hood scoops like the Gibson Brothers Dodge. They had one scoop, separate, above each carb,Theirs stuck up about 6 to 8 "" above the hood with a 4" by 6" square opening.

Welcome, Chris! I don't have answers to your questions, but someone in our group (probably more than one) will certainly be able to help.

Hey guys & gals,

           First post on
this incredible 62-65 MoPar resource. I've been quietly in
the background for a while reading the emails as they come
through. Good to be here. I have a question regarding 63-64
Max Wedge scoops. I have a 64 Polara hardtop that I would
like to put a repopped fibreglass scoop on. Which is the
best scoop to purchase? Also I have the model with the trim
piece running down the length on the hood, I would need to
remove this trim to mount the scoop? Does removing the piece
of trim leave a nasty pressed indentation that needs to be
covered up somehow?

Chris.
