Re: Ball & trunion boot replaced !!

i installed a Dorman 614 002 universal c v boot kit
the big end fits perfect
the small end has to be stretched a lot
stuff the entire boot through the trunion
do it on warm day or with a heater blowing on driveshaft
the boot is not rubber but a silicone
had to buy a boot clamp tool for $10
even looks like the factory piece other then the grey color

What Gary P. said. Grease that sucker. :) And watch for cracks and tears. Moisture getting in is the enemy.

Keep the spares you have sprayed with something like Meguiar's Vinyl & Rubber Conditioner,

Thanks,
Gary H.

John,

You need to keep them filled with grease; a dry trunion will wear out
quickly and/or drop a driveshaft.

Gary H , what is the maintenance for the b&t? Mine is still good and want
to keep it that way. I have a few used ones that are attached to drive
shafts just incase I need one. I do see some one ebay from time to time.
Are those correct, (ie new, nos ) Should I pick on up?- John Wask...
