340 engine oil capacity, off topic?

My wife's 37 Plymouth hot rod has a 340 in it. We haven't had it all that
long. I changed the oil and it only took 4 quarts to fill it, including the
new filter. Is that right? I'm used to the 383, which takes 5 quarts.
