Re: Brakes

What I have run into on these is the rubber boots over the caliper guide pins break open and allow moisture to get into the caliper forever freezing the bolts in rust. We use a torch to heat up the area where the bolts go through. Obviously this wrecks the caliper but if it's that rusty you're going to want to replace it anyway. Rebuilt calipers are not that expensive. Make sure you get one that comes with new hardware.

Subject: Brakes

Hi guys.

My problem here is, I have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. I got a set of
brake pads and rotors for the front of this van. I managed to get the caliper off on the passenger side and redid the brake on that side. When moving to
the drivers side, I was stopped dead in my tracks. The bolts holding the
caliper inplace will not move with out the use of 6 elephants and a
bulldozer, both of which, I do not have. How do I get this off to finish this
job?
