Steve, Glad the expectations were exceeded; seldom happens.Yes, the 742 cases seem to be the case of choice for a couple reasons...and the 3.55 ratio is reputed to be a surprsingly good 1/4 mile gear as well as a nice street gear; best of both worlds. I have third member overload right now and should probably sell my 742 case 3.23 third member to thin the herd. The 3.23 gear is not made anymore and I thought it to be an excellent gear, especially for the open road and yet it was still considered a "Performance" gear ratio by Mopar. I am running the 3.91 in my 340 car and the 3.73 ratio in my Stroker Poly vehicle.
Well, checking out for the night. Enjoy the ride! Gary Pavlovich----- Original Message ----- From: "MO ( Steve Mick)" <micher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Yes indeed! I had been watching for quite a while. both professional re-builds and private sellers. For some reason 3:55 ratio 742 case is not very common. Not even just the ring and Pinion. Randys has a good reputation, but kinda pricey. . The description of the one I did get was very breif , so wondered just what I would be getting....much more than expected and that is ALWAYS a good thing! Thanks for the note Gary............Steve{Steve Mick} http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/mick64.html----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Pavlovich" <glpavlovich@xxxxxxx>To: <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 21, 2010 8:58 PM Subject: Re: 8 3/4 rear diff. vendor.Steve,Good going! What a killer deal! Randy's Ring and Pinion sell the later case for about $1300 and it is not a OEM Mopar clutch Sure Grip.Gary Pavlovich----- Original Message ----- From: "MO ( Steve Mick)" <micher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 21, 2010 5:10 PM Subject: 8 3/4 rear diff. vendor.Today I recieved a 742 case, new clutches in sure grip, new quality 3:55 ring and pinion, even has the buttons in the thrust block. Looks very nice, completely clean and painted . has the yoke and new seal installed. . Opening bid of $595 plus shipping got it! Great communication with seller . He drag races a 67 Plymouth station wagon at 3900 lbs and is running in the 10's !!!! His name is Greg Sanford -Huber heights, Ohio. I'd have to look up his ebay seller name . I certainly will do business with him again.................................MO{Steve Mick} http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/mick64.html ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
