Passing this along. Spread the word and help save these from the crusher! No 62-65 Mopars though. A couple later year's Mopars. If you know any AMC fans pass this along to them! ===================================================================================== AMC ESTATE SALE! ED HOOPER COLLECTION.50+ AMCs. Some Mopars. All must be sold AND REMOVED FROM LOCATION by July 15th, 2010. Here is the original mail from Eddie Stakes: ====================================================================================== *there are some good cheap mopars at bottom of this page, all these cars have to go by july 15th Longtime AMC collector and fan Edward (Ed) Hooper passed away in Dallas in March 2010 after a short illness; he was diagnosed with brain cancer only 3 months before. Ed was a fixture flying the AMC flag at many swap meets like Pate, Chickasha, Arlington, Conroe to name a few. He had over 100 AMC vehicles at one point when I spoke with him a few years ago; but had sold some off. Heck, he even owned my dad's 76 black Gremlin X 304 dealer demonstrator and my own 73 Maxi Blue AMX and 76 Matador! This is the remainder of his collection, located in Fate, Texas, about 45 minutes NE of Dallas metro. I flew up May 22nd rented a non AMC car and drove out, documenting the cars and taking photos; flying back to Houston that night with heavy heart knowing would never see Ed again. All of these cars are projects of some sort, from the Rebel Machine body to the almost concourse 70 Hornet and 81 SX/4. You will find basic description, VIN, door tag trim info and a comment or two next to the photos. Also there is CONTACT information for the estate, and good friend Tommy who was Ed's sidekick thru years helping him bring many of these cars to Texas. I have added a list of TRANSPORT companies to the file in effort to help buyers. ALL OF THESE CARS MUST BE SOLD BY JULY 15TH, 2010 as the property has been sold, so don't be afraid to make a offer. If trailering yourself, youmay need rims and tires for some; or winch. Some have titles, others may not, but all would have BILL OF SALE. Good luck and home some of Ed's passion for everything American Motors is passed on to those folks who end up with one or more of his ride......God bless you Ed, we will miss your wry sense of humor! VIEW PICTURES: http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amc_estate_sale/ed-hooper.htm PS: I spent 7 hours in 90+ degree heat taking photos and trying to write down everything I could about these cars before hauling back to Dallas (eh, ok, Love's Truck Stop on I30 first to take $9 shower!) but if you have any questions, and if I can recall details, please ask me.
