Reproduction Mopar Battery?

Hi all,

A fellow was asking me about putting a reproduction Mopar battery in his ride. These are generally more expensive than a parts store aftermarket battery. I remember a few years ago there was a lot of complaints that the reproduction batteries did not last very long and were therefore way overpriced. Have they improved?

Any thoughts?

Here are some sources I found:

http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/reba.html (only 1965?)

http://www.restorationbattery.com/chryslerproducts.html

http://shop.turbostart.com/Collector-Car-Series_c2.htm

Also, a "topper" cover to use with a aftermarket battery is here: http://www.batterytoppers.com/products/

I thought someone made a "full case" fake repro battery shell that you put an aftermarket battery in? Can't seem to find that.

Thanks,
Gary H.
