Wiper arm info on my '63

Hi Guys 
I have my ride 90% ('63 dodge "440") together 
I installed wiper arms yesterday
When i activate the switch  they head for the cowl area I'm fairly certain that the motor and mechanism were put in properly ,as best i can tell from the FSM--
I checked the switch thinking I had a polarity problem - but it was OK 
any help appreciated
