Brian,

If it were me, I would take a dry tissue, start at the carb, and wipe
with the tissue looking for wetness.  Wipe the carb and the fittings,
then run down the line and do the same at fuel pump then down the line
to the tank and sending unit, filler neck, etc.   Just a little
moisture should be obvious. Cranking the fuel line nut too tight on
the fuel pump can cause it to crack, so I'd spend some time there.

If you have a pin hole in the tank, I've used the Eastwood tank
coating treatment and it seemed to work very well.
