Foldable Shop Cranes?

Hey all, 

A buddy of mine is looking at buying a shop crane that he would use once or twice a year at most. Is the 1 ton from Harbor Freight okay for such irregular use? I wonder if the 1 ton will be strong enough if the boom gets extended for our older big cars and big block Mopar engines?
