Thanks Tom , that is a very good wireing diagram, and all who gave me input. I think the ignition problem is solved. Thre clue was -the brown wire to the ballast resister. I had checked that wire. It had a splice terminal on the end and no other wire to the other end of the splice. No power from it even with the ignition switch on. I thought maybe it only had power when the starter was cranking, so I hooked up a remote starter button--No Go. Then when I found out the ballast needed a brown wire to it for sure. So--I wondered if the starter needed to be cranking with the ignition switch. The wifey ran the ignition switch while I tested the brown wire, and BINGO. --full 12 volts to it with the starter cranking. Ran out of time so tomorrow I will hook everything up and test again.
Now to figger out the alternator and electronc regulator issue. I need a simple wireing diagram like the one Tom posted, but for a electronic regulator Any more input??Thanks .....................MO
