Re: Console Top Restoration

Doug;

I am in the process of doing my console for a 1965 Coronet 500. I appreciate the heads up on areas to be painted black.

I am talking with an outfit in RI to possibly doing the whole console or at-least part of it. They are a little pricier than i thought but than a gain anything dealing with chrome seems to be expensive.

Looking forward as to how you resolve the roughness issue.

Has anyone re-chromed and repainted their console/shifter top plate for '64-'65 B-bodies console? I had my re-chromed and considering next steps for etching primer, filler primer. The metal surface under all the original paint is much rougher than I thought!
