I am in the process of doing my console for a  1965 Coronet 500. I  
appreciate the heads up on areas to be painted black.

I am talking with an outfit in RI to possibly doing the whole console  
or at-least part of it. They are a little pricier than i thought but  
than a gain anything dealing with chrome seems to be expensive.

Looking forward as to how you resolve the roughness issue.

filler primer.
The metal surface under all the original paint is much rougher than I  
thought!
