Neil, what Pat Blais told me is that it doesn't go rearward till it stops out or you will damage a valve body. Sez it should stop short of that, at least that's my recall.

Hi all, trying to get the final things on 64 cuda done so I can drive
it this summer.  On the throttle pressure adjustment side of things:
 Now, to shift the torqueflite down to  low gear, the lever on the
side of the tranny goes BACKWARD ( rearward) all the way to a stop,
correct? not Forward.  In other words the end product of the throttle
kickdown assembly is a shove BACK of the arm, correcto???
