Yes it can.  It is the band adjustment lever for 1 and 2sd .  Just
slip it back in place after backing off the adjustment on the side of
the trans, then tighten if back up.  Run it fairly tight then back off
until you have 1/4 play on the arm that goes to the severo . Should
work just fine.
