Yes, I used a high flow thermostat and high flow water pump in solving my 
440 temp problems. When looking at them both side by side (standard and high 
flow) you can see the increased size of the water pass hole. O'Rielys can 
order them also. Just put one on my SB 318 to solve temp problems. It did 
the job.

Yes, I use Robertshaw units on all my classic rides. They do make a
difference in my experience, thus I use them with all my rides.

Be sure they are US made (as most Robertshaw's are) and they always
can be found at Summit or Jegs.
