--Rich is right; it will be just fine. The 2 times the cubes is a rule of thumb and is far from the norm when dealing with a modified engine. Again, as with camshafts, I have found it hard to over-cam and over carburate a modified engine...that being said, use a 600-650cfm carb on your stock Poly 318.Don also said you cannot overcam a 440...(withing reason). As for the modified Poly 318 or Wedge; I run an 850cfm TQ on my 340 car and Rich can attest to no-bog...the engine loves it to the tune of mid to high 12's as a street car (a TQ is an anomaly; since the primaries are so small they gave up to 800cfm to stock small blocks...),Rich's slightly modified dual quad Poly runs 1000cfm...works well doesn't it Rich?Gary P.----- Original Message -----From: Richard KinsleySent: Friday, May 20, 2011 7:54 AMSubject: Re: Carter AFB for a Poly?I think it will be just fine. Remember Don D said 2 times the cubes is about right for carb cfm. You still have some to go!Rich Kinsley '64 Dodge Polara 4dr 318poly w/goodies--
