High performance fuel mileage

 I have a chance at getting a 68 Road runner 2 dr hdtp like the new
one I ordered.  I have been thinking on what I would do to set it up.
Road trip driver.  I want to make it look somewhat stock. and get
optimum gas mileage.  I am thinking an overdrive automatic , low
numericaly rear gears. 383 four bbl ( no fuel injection with  stock
Magnum exhaust manifolds.)
What would you use to accomplish this?  Cam,- intake- carb- tranny-
rear gears etc...............MO
