I did some checking as well,,,,,, I tried the local O'Relieys, here is what
they told me,,,,,, two types were used, and that both were available,,,, the
type for drum front brakes runs about $84, and the type for Disc. brakes runs
$273, and has an additional $100 core charge, all of theses figures is times
two,,,,,,,

After reading the posts about the lower ball joints for your Polara.
I went to Advance auto's web site and took a look at the lower ball
joint they have for $423.00 and after I think the problem can be
fixed with a little research. From what I see the ball joint is bolted
into the lower spindle and if you press the old ball joint out and take
it to a parts house that has an "old timer" working ask him or the
manager if you can go in the back and match up your ball joint. Might
take a little time to find one that fits but it will be worth it in the
end.
More than likely a lower ball joint from a Chevy or Ford will fit as
a lot of suspension parts were pretty standard because the majority of
ball joints for all car makers were made by Moog or TRW.

Cory,
I just went to the NAPA online site and looked up lower ball joints
for a 71 Chrysler 300. They show them with the arm attached as being
available as part #’s RPC 10166 right and RPC 10167 left. Not
cheap however, $114.00 each. I just checked for your 65 Polara and
they show the same part numbers but….. they also show another set for
your car. RPC 10490 right and RPC 10491 left. And those are “gulp”
$482.46 each.

joints
Ok here's my
dilemma. I can't seem to find ANYBODY who makes lower ball
joints for C-bodies 65 and newer. I would like to do the front
end in my 65 Polara. And my buddy has been looking for
years for a set for his 71 300. I thought he was kidding when he
said he couldn't find any. When I did some research into it I
found out he was right. I then checked for my car, just in case,
and found out the same thing. I then did some more poking around
and found that all C-bodies 65 and newer magically no longer have
lower ball joints. Either that or all existing ball joints on
these cars have suddenly become indestructible an thus there is no
further need make them. Can anyone help
me and my buddy. Well more so my buddy. My front end is
still fairly strong. Any help is, as always, greatly
appreciated. Cory 65 Polara
