Re: 727 Rebuild Kits.

Im in South Ga.  I just built a 65 trans and charged 1000.   That was the trans itself, rebuilding the trans, and a manual valve body.    Used a steel second gear band and red clutches, and a 4.2 lever.   Did your guy use a "booted" rear seal?

Yet again I have to smile.  You guys talking about how hard it is to get a cable shift tranny rebuilt.  Up here in Saskatoon, (google it) we've got probably half a dozen or more tranny shops to choose from.  One of these shops, Trevor's Transmission, custom built one for my 65 Polara.  See, I put a 440 into the Polara and used the bell housing and tail shaft from a big block and the center section from the original 318 polly.  I get a call 2 days later to say it's done.  So basically he completely made a big block tranny from one small block and one big block and put a shift kit in it, all for $975.  I thought that was a hell of a deal.  And damn, does it shift nice!!  Like I said in a posting a couple days ago, there seems to be an advantage to living in Saskatchewan.

A & A transmissions sells some parts.  No one is selling any rebuilt '62 ti '62 727's unless you supply the core yourself.  Then you have to ship the whole trans to them and wait.  If they screwed it up you have to send it back again and wait some more.

Get some kind of kit and get someone who knows these transmissions to rebuild it for you.  Good luck and I hope your trans shifts nice and hard when you get it done.
