Rich,
Congrats on your Parade run. Nice to hear the comments on your new
cam and heads and that the engine ran cool. Your engine package is more
“complete and balanced” now with the larger cam and ported heads to make use of
the intake charge and expel it efficiently with your TTI Headers...reason for
the “smoother” sensation; looking forward to seeing how it performs on the drag
strip.

I do have some good guys around here to help when needed. And I'm pretty needy
:-)
And yes it feels great to be back on the road. The car is running
best ever! I swear it's even smoother now with the 284 deg cam than with the
264deg cam.
I did have an issue in that it started smoking badly and it looked like oil
smoke. However about halfway through the parade and after quite a few 7,000 rpm
blips for the crowd it quit smoking? It was both banks. I wonder if I got
something in the exhaust pipes that burned off? I'm going to check the head
torque and headers again. The headers will probably loosen after running awhile.
They did before. I'll be checking the compression to see what it is now.
Anyway the parade today was the best ever. The car staying practically cold
the whole time and loved the revs. Before I didn't dare rev it or it'd start
loading up and overheat in a flash. So the heads and cam are a success!!
Gary P said it would probably like 7500rpm and he's right.
