I see what ya mean, i think ima do same just sucks my car is a two barrel car lol I just want a dependable driver that I can drive 100 miles or so to a car show and back home. Cars are meant to be driven!
Sent from my iPhone Because most of the people I deal with have what are considered investment cars and they want numbers matching stuff to keep the value of their rides up. Over the years I just kinda got a rep for doing things correctly....so word of mouth thing ya know.

I figured lol so question....why do most people wanna go back with original 4barrel carbs and intakes when you have stuff like edelbrock that's easy to play with and looks nice? I'm just curious....

Oh, yea.....turn the fast idle screw back up when your done....to factory specs or whatever your engine needs/wants On Mon, Sep 19, 2011 at 6:12 PM, a440plus6 <a440plus6@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
That pretty much is the correct way.....after I get a baseline I turn the fast idle screw out just so thr engine will stay running the adjust them both again.
I used to have a RPM meter hooked up and watched it when I did it but I've done so many over the decades that I just do it by ear now.

From snug I guess you mean closed. I've always had problems adjusting carbs...it was always rich or lean. I always just turned one till it ran like crap then backed off until it smoothed out and did same for other one...not the correct way at all I'm sure lol

For the price it wouldn't be bad just to have an extra. Adjusting it on the car should be a blast lol them adjustment screws are a pain w the compressor where it's at. I have no clue on base. I seriously doubt the carb has ever been off that intake. I think ima get it and hope for the best...:-P maybe I'll be lucky if anyone sees something else or thinks another brand would be better speak up! Lol

Ya always take your chances on ebay.....sometimes ya do good and sometimes not so good. If you think your base might be a bit warped......you might try doubleing up on the base gasket.
